Beautiful News is a moving-image work by Minori Murata, created in collaboration with animator Hiromu Oka, satirically reimagining a world filled with bad news from the perspective of an ant.

Structured as a series of fictional news segments, the work transforms familiar categories of contemporary news into absurd narratives: infectious disease becomes “We’re All Family,” condolences become “Ghost Debut,” the economy becomes “Smile Now Charges,” and scandal becomes “The Hot Earth.” Through the ant’s perspective, everyday systems and crises are displaced into a playful but unsettling fictional world.
