Automatic Bloods is an installation built around a fictional advertising system and the invisible environmental costs of everyday consumption.

At the centre of the installation, a receipt is continuously printed while fictional advertisements for an imaginary department store appear throughout the space. Drawing on ideas including common resources, virtual water and the role of megabanks, the work considers the environmental destruction and unseen sacrifices embedded in habitual consumer behaviour. The title Automatic Bloods evokes a system in which these consequences continue automatically, even when they remain invisible to the consumer.
